Dr. Brannan is incredible! This was our first visit and my teen-aged special needs son did FANTASTIC. It was the best dentist appointment we've ever had. She was patient, kind, informative, and fun. She listened to all of our concerns and addressed each one completely, including the kiddo's. I am so glad I found her and the staff at South Hill Children's Dentistry. Seriously, I don't think I can say enough good things. I was so surprised and happy with the visit. Go see her!

Every time we visit, it has always been pleasant. My kids have never been nervous to go. They explain everything to the kids so they know just what to expect. No better place to go!

Dr. Brannan is a caring profession who puts my son at ease by explaining exactly what she is doing. She also takes the time to answer all his questions and makes sure he understands and is comfortable before she begins. My only complaint is that she only sees children because I want her as my dentist too! :)

Excellent Dentist

Dr. Mak and her staff showed the utmost concern for my child's safety and care during his long procedure, which included general anesthesia. This was an unsettling experience for me to watch my child "go to sleep" like that. I was praying so hard while waiting in the playroom. The receptionist kept me informed as to the progress of the procedure, and I was immediately brought to my child's side so I could be with him while he wakes up. Thank you, again, for your concern and care.

Love Dr. Clara Brannan! She's friendly and very capable in her work. My son is 5 and he loves it there. They make you feel very comfortable and they interact with your kids to make them feel comfortable too. The waiting room with all the toys and books is amazing. We've never had any problems and I highly recommend it!

Dr. Brannan filled our 4 year olds cavity. She was very patient, explained every step to him, and talked to him throughout the procedure. He was thrilled, happy, and had no problems. All of our children love coming here.

I only wish this place were around when I was a kid- from the moment you walk through the door- the kids are comfortable and actually excited to be there! No dry waiting room with magazines- the kids have a blast on a fun carousel, play area, video games. The dental techs who cleaned their teeth were very sweet and interacted with the kids making them at-ease with the process and explaining what they were doing. (and they did two kids at a time- expediting our visit!) The dentist is super personable and thorough with her examination and plans for the kids dental work as they grow. We were in and out of the office (3 total visits) in 20 minutes! The kids were thrilled to get a little "goody bag" and a coin to pick a prize on the way out. I am so pleased that we found this place and the kids are counting down the days to the next visit. Thank you!!

This is a practice that I would recommend to anyone with kids. My son always feels at ease and the staff explains what's going to happen. When we get to our appointment, the exam starts on time. The office is very clean and welcoming!

There was lots of encouragement toward my child to get her to take better care of her teeth. I think it helped to inspire my daughter to do a better job when brushing her teeth. My daughter appreciated the supportive atmosphere and didn't feel like she was being shamed because of developing a cavity. Instead, she wanted to prevent developing any additional cavities by adapting some of the doctor's suggestions.

My daughter was super nervous about going in for a filling. The dr was fantastic and made her so comfortable with the whole procedure. It was quick and painless and such a pleasant experience for my kid.

I had my first kiddo needing fillings today. The staff was so amazing, he came out smiling with ZERO complaints! They are always efficient and answer any questions I have. I won't go anywhere else for my kids dental needs!

The staff were just so great! The dental technicians were slow and extremely easy with my children, ages 9, 8 and 4. One child is autistic and both boys are diagnosed ADHD. My daughter was a little concerned at first, but her technician put her right at rest and even got her to smile a little. The dentist was just like a family member. I just wish that she had adult patients!! I'd be there in a heartbeat. She was extremely easy to talk to concerning my children's medical and physical backgrounds. She even offered a plan for my other two foster children so they would feel like they were part of this.

Dr. Clara (and the whole staff really) did a great job of making my boys feel welcome, at ease, and calm during their visit. They explained everything they were doing and made sure they were comfortable with each part of the exam/cleaning. Great job! I would definitely recommend them as a pediatric dentist!

I have been going to South Hill Children's Dentistry for years and I can only say good things about it. Even though we've moved an hour away, we still come here because we love it. Dr. Brannan and her staff do everything they can to make children feel comfortable and safe. The rooms are open to parents, and other children can wait in the *amazing* waiting room with really great games and toys. The cost of treatment is always very reasonable, and they do not try to push unnecessary procedures or "add-ons." The office staff are friendly and let you know ahead of time what your portion of the cost will be, so there are no surprises.

Dr. Brannan fit my daughter in to her busy schedule in two days! She had cracked a tooth in half and I was worried it was a permanent one. When we arrived, Dr. Brannan not only reassured me it was a baby tooth making way for a bigger one, but she also told me to NOT LET HER pull it to save on my bill. I consider that AMAZING service. She also told us which teeth were starting cavities and going to fall out so AGAIN we didn't pay for unnecessary services. I can not tell you how very much we appreciate that! The entire staff is very friendly and caring.

We had an awesome first experience with Dr Mak! It's was the kids' first time at the dentist and your office made them very comfortable and they did far better than I expected! Dr Mak and the hygienist were both extremely friendly and great with the kids. The kids loved her and are actually looking forward to their next dentist appointment! When we left they gave each kid a coupon for a free meal at Apple Bees which I thought was kind of a cool, unique gesture.

My son had his first cavity filled. He was nervous, but was given every possible explanation that would help him feel comfortable and confident to handle the treatment. The staff was very accommodating and sensitive to my son's need for information on what was happening at all times. His experience was positive and we were done within 20 minutes!

The experience was great! The cleaning from the hygienist was informative with tips as well as visual examples of why flossing is necessary even with good brushing habits. Dr. Brannan was able to share her opinion of the potential need for braces in the future. The front reception was helpful in the beginning and at the end. Seeing the dentist can be something to smile at!

We have been taking our now three year old here for almost a year and a half. She is terrified of all things doctor and dental related, and no this is not because she has had anything but routine visits. From our first visit here to our most recent visit today our daughter has been smiled at, cared for with compassion and reassured during every step of her appointment. Even when she is crying and upset they calmly and gently talk to us and always modify her cleanings to make her slowly realize she is safe. We love all the staff and are greatful they are available for little girls like my daughter.

The assistants were so great with my kids letting them feel everything and explaining every step to them. I came to this place a year ago because of the overbooked office we went to previously. We have never waited more than five minutes and they are so friendly and have great customer service. My kids love the play room and are very comfortable with the whole process and staff.

My son use to be traumatized by visiting the dentist. Dr Brennen has really put his fears at ease. All of the staff are wonderful! We have had nothing but good experiences.

Everyone is so nice as well as good at what they do. It's nice to feel like people rather than just patients. We had back to back appointments for the girls, but they were done with both girls 15 minutes before the 2nd appointment was even supposed to start!!

I have an Autistic son who never liked to go to the dentist. The staff here changed his mind. They are caring and patient. Showing him step by step what they are doing. I thank them every time we go and they tell me how they look forward to seeing my son. For a parent that is so great to hear and to know that they mean it. I can not recommend them enough.

The staff are always so wonderful with my kids. I have been taking my kids here for years and I have had a great experience every single time. The doctor is great with the kids and with me- she shows me the x-rays and we look at their teeth together. One of the rooms has 2 dental chairs so I can be there with both my kids at the same time. And lastly- my kids (elementary age) absolutely love the play area.

Both visits have been fantastic. Dr Brannan is very nice and interacts really well with my children. They feel very comfortable there. The play area is great. My 5 year old looks forward to going to the dentist!

We recently went to South Hill Dentist for a cleaning/checkup for my 3 kids (ages 8, 7, 3). I was AMAZED. (and kind of jealous that I wasn't able to go to this place as a kid) - The office staff were friendly and immediately offered us coffee and showed us the playroom- If there is ANYTHING to get rid of the pre-dentist jitters- it would be this playroom! The kids had so much fun playing on the carousel, arcade games, and climbing toy. Dr Brennan was so kind to my children and knowledgeable not only on dentistry, but aware of one of my other child's medical history and the possible effects we would be watching for. Both she and the dental assistant were so friendly and personal with my children and did a great job with cleaning but also with teaching my children during the exam- they were encouraging and helped the kids to easily relax and enjoy the cleaning. The kids got a gold coin to use for a "prize" at the end. They didn't want to leave and already are begging to go back (to the DENTIST!?!) Super impressed and only wishing we would have discovered this place sooner. Thanks for a great experience!

If I wasn't satisfied with this office, I wouldn't keep coming back. :) That being said, I finally heard you to tell my son that brushing longer would be a good thing! He uses Sonicare, but only 1 cycle because you told him that one would be enough. He took that literally and instead of thinking that he may need to use another cycle, especially now with braces, he automatically stops after the first one. I've also expressed a need to show my kids how you think they should brush their teeth. Maybe a pair of choppers with braces on it, and one without, would be good for a hands-on demo. I know I may be petty, but I honestly think that a lot of kids would benefit from showing you how they brush their teeth, and then you correcting them if needed. If they can do it, to show you, it would be so much better.

The staff at this location was great with my 6 year old daughter who had to be put under general anesthesia. Very friendly and truly caring individuals taking care of my daughter, including the anesthesiologist who did an awesome job! Thank you!

We've been patients for 12 years here. The best part is they are honest and educational. They help you as the parent understand care to help you children. She explains everything in a kid friendly understandable way and is just down to earth and kind. The service is always friendly. From the front desk, hygienists and dentist. Always professional, kind, honest. I would never trust anyone else to my kids for teeth until I have to change dentists for them when they are of age. They are also very timely. I have never had to wait very long at all for an appointment.

My 4 yr old had some serious work done and they were so tender and caring through the whole process. They were constantly keeping me in the know and I felt surrounded by friends!

This was my 2 yr olds third dentist appointment with Dr. Brennan's office. My daughter loves the playroom/waiting room. There's so much to play with, including a three horse carousel! Dr Brennan allows me to sit on the end of the dental chair so my daughter's feet can be on my lap, making my daughter more comfortable and more at ease. My daughter has no problem opening her mouth and allowing Dr Brennan to examine and clean her teeth. I just wish she would open her mouth as easily for me to brush her teeth. :) Dr Brennan is a board certified pediatric dentist, and also a mom, so she understands children, and how to make them, and their parents, feel comfortable during the check-ups. South Hill Children's Dentistry is Dr Brennan's own practice, so the office is never crowded, and we have always had the playroom to ourselves while we wait to be called back.

Staff was very friendly. Very child-oriented. They did a good exam and provided proper care! They rewarded both my boys which made them excited and made them realize dentists are awesome!!! Not to mention they have a cool waiting room!

Dr. Brannan and her crew were great at explaining everything with my 2 yr olds dental procedure with conscious sedation and very gentle and patient with him throughout the procedure. Both of my youngest boys feel completely at ease at the practice and actually get upset when its time to leave!

You will not find a better dentist or staff that are kind and fabulous at their jobs. My child was terrified to go to the dentist, but everyone was so wonderful and made him feel relaxed. I owe it all to Dr. Brannan and her staff!

We had an appointment at 6am for our younger son and when we got there he was too sick to have work done. We also had another appointment for our older son the next month and so they let us go get him to bring in and fill in his spot, so they waited 45-60 min for us to start. The bonus was they never made us feel bad about the situation and just carried on very professionally. Very thankful for the staff.

My kids have been going here for about 5 years now and they absolutely LOVE it! They get to play with arcade games and other toys while they wait which I think helps take the stress of going to the dentist away. Plus they staff is very nice, friendly and informative! I have yet to have a bad experience here. I would recommend this place to anyone!

We have had nothing but great experiences. All three of our children look forward to going to their dentist. There is never any fear or anxiety, they are thoroughly explained each procedure and are encouraged to participate in their dental health. Dr. Brannen and her staff are always completely amazing. My kids joyfully go to the dentist, she takes time with them and explains things on their level and makes them feel very secure. The kids always leave with smiles (and little toys from the token machine). I sort of wish she could be MY dentist! From a scheduling standpoint, the staff is always easy to work with, willing to get you in on a moment's notice if there is an issue. They are willing to work with you on high-cost procedures to come up with a plan that works with every budget. I would recommend her to anyone!

This was my daughter's very first visit to the dentist. While she was too nervous to have a regular exam, Dr. Brannan was cheerful and she was great at helping my daughter relax enough for a lap exam. Overall, the staff was friendly and very patient! I have a four year old that has been afraid of the dentist for years. He would cry no matter what and I would have to lay with him in the chair while he barely let them look at his teeth. Today was so DIFFERENT They were so patient, and walked him threw EVERYTHING they were doing or going to do. They calmed him down and no tears at all. He had XRAYS done for the first time and Dr Brannan even clean his teeth to help him feel comfortable. And the kids keep talking about the waiting room it was so fun!!! This was our second appointment with Dr Brannan, and the South Hill Children's Denistry office. My daughter is 23 months, and isn't a fan of anything that looks like a Dr's office, but she is very comfortable here. She was looking forward to going to the dentist, and kept talking about the horses and toys in the waiting room. She was very comfortable with Dr Brannan and allowed her to look in her mouth, polish, and apply flouride, all without crying! I would recommend this office to anyone.

Great with my two year old who was excited about going to the "teeth Doctor " but not duper excited about cooperating!

Although my son wasn’t able to get his teeth cleaned today (he is terrified of the dentist), he was able to at least sit in the dental chair with me...that was a big step for him. I like that they are so patient and never push the child (or the mother) to feel guilty if the appointment doesn’t work for the child. My son has sensory issues, which cause his fear. I love that they understand that. We’ve been going to this practice for over 10 years, and as much as I like Dr. Miller, I like the new ownership even better.

My Son had never been to the Dentist before. He is an extremely bright child and needed some time to adjust to the idea. Unfortunately, I waited too long and it was a molar problem that triggered our first appointment. (Hindsight, take your children to the Dentist as soon as they start to get teeth even if there does not appear to be any problems) This Dental team, from his first appointment and cleaning to his first repairs (filling/crown)were fantastic. He was not afraid,they explained everything step by step, stopped for breaks if he needed them, etc.. I really appreciate the passion they have for their profession and their love of children. Kudos!

Having dental fears myself, I was very concerned about finding a dentist for my 2 and 4 year old boys that would result in a positive experience for them at the beginning of their dental visits. The staff and dentist are wonderful with kids and as an added bonus their kids waiting room is AMAZING! The dentist took the time to explain what she found and what needed to be done and why. My boys were actually sad to leave and can't wait to go back! A+++!

I absolutely love this place! Not only does does the staff make you feel comfortable, they listen to all your questions to help decide whats the best for your child, and pocketbook. Atmosphere is calming and is wonderful for Autistic children/teens. I highly recommend!!

My boys loves going to this dentist, its like going to the park with no hesitation. They have games and playroom while waiting. The instruments are kids friendly and explained how its works in kids way. The staff are verry friendly.

My daughter LOVES going to the dentist because of the caring and upbeat staff. The dentist takes the time to educate as well as treat whatever issue arises. Wouldn't take my daughter anywhere else.

Our son who is on the autism spectrum has had wonderful care here along with our two other children. She takes her time, answer our questions and is very patient with our kids. Very happy to have found a place like this.

Everyone is so friendly and amazing there. They are so amazing with my daughter, there is not one thing I would fix.
